Nightime Routine for the Best Sleep Ever

It's all about The Sun.

What is circadian rhythm? It's the body's natural 24 hour sleep wake cycle established by sunrise and sunset.

Get Primal.

It's super easy to tap into this natural cycle while camping in nature. No blue screens from TV's or phones. Just the night sky, stars, and a campfire.

Step 1

Enjoy nature's painting of the sky at night and watch the sun set below the horizon.

Step 2

No more blue light after dark. That means no TV, Cell Phone, or Fluorescent Lighting. If you're out in nature this is really easy!

If you're at home invest in a pair of blue light blocking glasses and sport them after sunset.

The dark sends signals to your body telling it "Dude, it's time for sleep". (It actually sends signals for the body to start making melatonin.)

Step 3

Relax and unwind! Read a book, do some yin yoga, meditate, or drink some herbal tea and get cozy for the night.

Step 4

Rest your eyes for the night. Listen to the crickets outside your window or tent & get some sleep.

Step 5

Rise with the sun! You want all the blue light you can get from the sunrise. This will stop melatonin production, give you energy, and set you up for another good night's sleep.

The Challenge

Tap into your circadian rhythm for one week and track your improvements.
